Alessandro Mendini – 2014 European Prize for Architecture

The Architect Alessandro Mendini is awarded the 2014 European Prize for Architecture by The European Centre for Art, Design, and Urban Studies and the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.

“This Prize acknowledges Alessandro Mendini’s pursuits and achievements before a European and worldwide audience,” says Christian K. Narkiewicz-Laine, museum president of the Chicago Athenaeum.

“Mendini is one of the rare, most iconic minds in the history of art and architecture. In an era where architectural ideas are copied and duplicated worldwide faster than ‘viral’, Mendini and his works remain singular, prophetic and original.”
