Front
Design Parade, Villa Noailles
June 25 to August 30, 2026

For the 20th edition of the Design Parade in Hyères, Jury Presidents Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist of Front take over the second floor of the Villa Noailles, overlooking the garden and the city below. The exhibition offers an immersion into two seminal projects: Seven Stories About Mirrors, a collection conceived for and premiered at Galerie kreo in 2021, and Geometriæ, their latest collaboration with Moroso.

Co-founded in Stockholm in the early 2000s, Front occupies a singular position in the contemporary design landscape. The studio’s creations are defined by a research-based process, beginning from starting points that are expansive, critical, and often magical.
Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist place curiosity at the heart of their practice. The ideas that capture their attention are explored from every possible angle: historical, scientific, artistic, technological, functional, and emotional. This foundational, almost academic curiosity serves as both the matrix and the engine of their work. Over the years, they have collaborated with experts, animals, algorithms, machines, and, most recently, AI.

The featured project here, Seven Stories About Mirrors, proposes a set of mirrors conceived from intertwined cultural and historical references, drawing on traditional techniques and a variety of materials. Whether made of blown glass following a tradition handed down since the 13th century, a 3D-printed form of a water puddle (the first place where one could see their own reflection), an obsidian stone, or pieces showcasing Murano mastery, each object is the result of an astute typological analysis. Together, they investigate how the value, significance, cultural meaning, and technical nature of an object have evolved over time.
The exhibition is on view until August 30th.
