François Bauchet I Contemporary designer

François Bauchet was born in 1948 in Montluçon (France). He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bourges. From 1978 to 1982, he was a lecturer at the École des Beaux-Arts in Mâcon. Since 1982, he has been a lecturer at the École des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Etienne. In 1983, his first project which was carried out with the support of the VIA entitled "C'est aussi une chaise" (It is also a chair), was presented at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs (SAD). In 1987, he took part in the Documenta 8 in Kassel in Germany. From 1984 to 1998, he worked with the galerie Neotu. François Bauchet combines scenography, interior architecture and design. His projects range widely fromthe design of the Fondation Cartier in Jouy-en-Josas, window displays and reception area furniture for the Centre d'art de Vassivière-en-Limousin, the reception area of the musée d'Art et d'Industrie in Saint-Etienne...
